“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Scripture
Proverbs 3:5–6 — “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Observation
Solomon addresses the disposition of the heart, not just behavior. The contrast is explicit: trust in God vs. leaning on your own understanding. “All your heart” and “all your ways” — the scope is total. Submission precedes the straight path.
Application
Where are you right now leaning on your own understanding? In your finances? A relationship? A decision you’re carrying alone? Today, identify one area where you need to loosen your grip and give God the wheel.
Prayer
Lord, I confess I often lean on my own reasoning. Today I choose to trust You — not just with my words but with my decisions. Show me where I’m holding back, and give me the courage to submit fully. Make my paths straight, not because I deserve it, but because You are faithful. Amen.
