You don’t need another vague goal to “read your Bible more.” You need a plan you can put your finger on. Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 — a list you check off, not a resolution you quietly drop by January 10th.

That’s what this is. A 30-day Bible study plan built for men who are done starting over and ready to just start. Print it, tape it inside your Bible, and go.

Why 30 Days Works

Thirty days isn’t magic. But it’s long enough to build a habit and short enough that you can see the finish line from day one. Most men don’t quit reading the Bible because the Bible is hard. They quit because they never had a plan, so every morning became a decision — and decisions get skipped when you’re tired.

Remove the decision. That’s the whole strategy.

This plan pairs a short daily reading with the SOAP Bible study method — Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer — so you’re not just reading words, you’re actually working the Word. If you’ve never used SOAP before, read that guide first. It’ll take five minutes and it’ll make every day of this plan more useful.

How to Use This Plan

  1. Set a time. Same time, same chair, every day. Before phone, before coffee if you can manage it.
  2. Open to the day’s passage. One chapter, sometimes less. Short on purpose.
  3. Run it through SOAP. Write one verse that stands out (Scripture), what it means in context (Observation), how it applies to your actual life today (Application), and a short prayer in response (Prayer).
  4. Check the box. Don’t underestimate this. A visible chain of checkmarks is its own kind of motivation.

Fifteen minutes. That’s the promise. Some days you’ll want to stay longer. Good. But 15 minutes is the minimum bar, not the goal — that’s what makes it repeatable on your worst mornings, not just your best ones.

The 30-Day Reading Schedule

Week 1: Foundations — Who God Is

Week 2: Identity — Who You Are in Christ

Week 3: Battle — Fighting the Fight

Week 4: Mission — Living It Out

What to Do When You Miss a Day

You will miss a day. Plan for it now so it doesn’t wreck the whole month.

Here’s the rule: don’t double up, just pick up. If you miss Day 12, don’t try to cram Day 11 and 12 together tomorrow. Do Day 12 tomorrow and keep moving. This isn’t school. Nobody’s grading you on completion speed. The goal is the habit, not the calendar.

If you miss three or four days in a row, don’t scrap the whole plan and wait for “next Monday.” Open it right now, find today’s slot, and read it. Momentum matters more than perfection.

Pairing This With a Longer Plan

Thirty days is a sprint — it proves to you that daily time in the Word is possible. Once you’ve finished it, don’t stop. Move into a full Bible reading plan that will carry you further, whether that’s through the New Testament, a chronological read, or a full year in Scripture.

Think of this 30-day plan as boot camp. What comes after is the deployment — a longer, steadier rhythm that becomes just part of who you are.

Print It, Post It, Use It

Print this list. Put it somewhere you’ll see it before you see your phone — bathroom mirror, nightstand, inside the front cover of your Bible. A plan you have to remember is a plan you’ll forget. A plan you can see is a plan you’ll follow.

Grab a pen too. Written observations stick in a way that mental notes never do. You don’t need a fancy journal — a spiral notebook and a Bible on a kitchen table at 5:45 a.m. has changed more men than any app ever will.

You Weren’t Made to Coast

Thirty days from now, you can be the same man scrolling through excuses, or you can be a man with 30 days of Scripture behind him and a habit starting to take root. That gap isn’t closed by motivation. It’s closed by opening the book tomorrow morning, and the morning after that.

Start today. Not Monday. Today.
